Director of Production

Having worked at the top of his field for over 15 years, Dave is a well-respected leader in the events industry in Asia. At Luminous he heads up and mentors the production team, responsible for internal and external vendor resource management and ensuring that our systems and processes are closely adhered to and are working to maximum effect.

As part of the Luminous senior management team, Dave also has a hands-approach to production and often leads teams in the delivery of large-scale events. For the Grand Opening of the Venetian Macau he took up the role of Operations Director and played a key part working behind the scenes providing the invisible glue that bonded the multiple components of this event together.

His illustrious career is firmly entrenched in the arts, but also spans the media and entertainment world. It began at a young age with the Singapore folk music scene “Xin Yao” where Dave organized several island-wide concerts and a song writing competition. His career proper, kicked off in Singapore’s retail sector with Takashimaya Shopping Centre, the biggest mall in Orchard Road, coordinating numerous exhibitions including the Omega NASA World Tour.

After three years, Dave became the Promotions Manager for the Television Corporation of Singapore’s English Channel (TCS 5), now known as MediaCorpTV. Following this in June 1998, he literally “ran away to join the circus” and became marketing manager for Cirque du Soleil™ in Asia Pacific responsible for promoting the colorful "Saltimbanco™" & "Alegria™" in 5 Australian cities, Auckland, Singapore, Hong Kong, Portland and Seattle.

From 2000-2005, work at Jack Morton included an associate producer role at the 2004 Athens Olympics on the Beijing Handover Segment. He also handled the show management of the inaugural, and extremely high-profile, Fortune Global Forum in Hong Kong, hosting President Bill Clinton and Premier Jiang Zemin. Business luminaries and property tycoons Li Ka Shing and Nina Wang were also in attendance.

Over the years Dave has delivered a wide variety of successful events for numerous corporate clients, including: Bausch and Lomb, Goldman Sachs, Philips, BNP Paribas, CLSA, WorldCom and Asia Netcom, amongst others. He is particularly well known for his large-scale staff events for PricewaterhouseCoopers that are delivered across four cities in China, as well as this firm’s senior partner conferences.

At Luminous, Dave has a hand in almost all creative and production deliveries that leave the office. He is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
