Director of Creative Services
The co-founder of Luminous, Dave is a natural leader with an extraordinary ability to anticipate the client’s needs. He excels at predicting and pre-empting problems, as well as plotting out solutions with a pro-active approach. Over 15 years in the events industry has given Dave a remarkable adaptability that keeps production and creative teams running smoothly to the finish line.
Dave helms the creative services department like a captain or mentor – with hands-on guidance, an approachable manner, and a reassuringly calm demeanour. He has ultimate responsibility for the entire creative team and maintains an environment that is both inspiring and ordered. Dave uses his strong management skills to oversee the team’s efforts and guarantee the highest standards for scheduling and delivery of all creative elements.
As the Operations Director for the Grand Opening of the Venetian Macau Resort Hotel, Dave was instrumental in working behind the scenes to smoothly and powerfully manage the team. Dave has delivered a wide variety of successful events in much the same way. He is known for his long-term and exceptional leadership of PricewaterhouseCooper’s yearly multi-city staff events in China, as well as the firm’s Senior Partner Conferences. His experience forging consensus among disparate groups makes him an ideal leader for the diverse artistic personalities in the creative services department.
After serving as the Promotion Manager for Singapore Television Corporation’s English Channel TCS5 (now MediaCorpTV), Dave ran away to join the circus. As Marketing Manager for “Cirque du Soleil”™ in Asia Pacific, Dave was responsible for promoting the colourful and successful shows, Saltimbanco and Alegria in Australia, Auckland, Singapore, Hong Kong, Portland and Seattle. With this high level of international experience, Dave is very comfortable directing global enterprise at Luminous.
A trilingual Associate Producer for the closing ceremonies of the 2004 Athens Summer Olympics, Dave played a crucial role in the production process for the Handover Segment with the Beijing Olympics team. He also directed show management for the high-profile Fortune Global Forum in Hong Kong, hosting President Bill Clinton and Premier Jiang Zemin. Dave’s communication prowess and leadership skills help him to drive and refine creative production while celebrating the unique spirit at the heart of each Luminous event.
A veritable jukebox of musical knowledge, Dave’s love of music and live entertainment began in his native Singapore where he produced concerts and a national song-writing competition. Currently, his familiarity with popular headline acts, close professional relationships with top artistic managers and agents, and cutting-edge awareness of musical trends guarantees that Luminous events are always filled with exciting live entertainment options.
